Our Guest Speaker for February 21st, Melinda Burgess!
Melinda started her career working across Aged and Disability Services in HACC assessment, Aged Care assessment and Case Management.
In 1999 Melinda founded Skills Training Australia a Registered Training Organisation delivering Nationally Accredited Qualifications across the Community Services and Health Industries.
In 2014, Skills Training Australia was bought by Academies Australasia, a publicly listed company with 17 colleges in Australia and 1 in Singapore. Post the sale of the company Melinda remained with Academies in the role of Director Strategic Operations, working closely with the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer.
In 2017 Melinda and her family made the move to Rural Victoria where Melinda has taken on the role of CEO of the Dame Pattie Menzies Centre in Alexandra.
 
Dame Pattie Menzies Centre Inc (DPMC) is a not-for-profit organisation providing support to people in Murrindindi Shire. Services are provided in peoples' homes, in the community and at "The Mount" our facility in Alexandra. The organisation is committed to providing individualised, person-centred support to people and their families. Individuals are supported to develop to their maximum potential in all areas of their lives and be valued and included in the community.
