Rubbish bins of the future

Council is currently planning for how it can implement the Victorian Government’s Circular Economy Policy, which requires all Victorian households to have access to four streams of recycling and waste

- Food and garden organics

- Glass recycling

- Mixed recycling

- General Rubbish

While Council’s existing waste and recyclingcontracts don’t come to an end until 2025, we are already planning for how these new services will be implemented and will soon be asking the community to have their say on how the four recycling and waste streams will be delivered. 

This will include combinations of kerbside pickup and drop off at our Resource Recovery Centres. Community members will also help us decide if kerbside pickups happen weekly, fortnightly, or monthly for each type of bin.
